Trying..or am I?

I just don’t know how to get started. I go through this all the time. I tell myself I am going to start on Monday…and then when Monday comes…I don’t.. this job is so hard because I sit 6 hours a day. I try to drink water but then I have to get up every 5 minutes and I can’t do that. I snack frequently but I try to only snack on 100 calorie packs.  What am I suppose to do without a fridge or microwave for me to store lunch at? What am I suppose to eat?? How am I going to lose this weight sitting here all day?

Jen, I know you feel sad and don’t know how to begin. I want you to know that you can do this ! My suggestion is to make yourself a promise that you start right now not later cuz then you have time to doubt creep in ! The food issue, you can bring your own or my fav. suggestion : SUBWAY ! They have many lean meat sandwiches ! Kimmi

When I started this go round of my weight loss, I had zero motivation. seriously, I just couldn’t quite find it in me to want to work out, or eat healthy, etc. But when the weight started coming off, I found more and more motivation.
I think the best way to think of it is as a life style change, you are not dieting, you are changing your life.
I agree about a lunch box, I use that and with a cooler pack, things do stay cold.

The lunch box with the cooler packs definetly work. That’s how I started. You can do it my hopes and prayers are with you.

Start with one small goal at a time. If you overwhelm yourself, you’ll keep waiting until Monday because the thoughts of all the changes you want to make are so overwhelming. Why don’t you go after work and get yourself that cooler lunch box everyone is talking about. Promise yourself that you will bring lunch and healthy snacks for ONE week and start there. Then add on little by little making each week doable. When you get overwhelmed just give yourself a break without breaking the good habits you’ve already gotten into. Slow and steady wins the race. Good luck.

Okay Jenny, first of all, I’m not trying to be harsh… I only want to help, k?

    1. Don’t wait until Monday. Start right now, this very minute.

    2. 6 hours is not all day. It is only 1/4 of your day.

    3. You don’t need a fridge or a microwave for those 6 hours. All you need is a small ice chest that you can keep right there with you where you sit for 6 hours. An ice pack goes inside. Baggies instead of containers take up less room. Sandwiches on whole grain bread with light mayo, green leaf lettuce, low fat ham or turkey or chicken, low fat cheese slices (I happen to love the low fat swiss), snacks of fresh veggies and fruits already chopped/cut up, snack pack sugar free jello with cottage cheese, snack packs or snack size servings of dietetic trail mixes (high in protein)…

    4. Watch your PORTIONS. This was SO very important for me to learn and one of the things that helped me the most.

    5. Track your calories for AT LEAST 2 weeks. It’s worth the time and effort to see just HOW many calories you are consuming. You may be surprised. I know I was.

    6. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!

There are lots of options out there, but you have to be willing to put in the work/preparation/planning. You have to WANT this.

If I can be gone from my home 14 hours a day, work a full time job, mother, wife, caregiver to my dad, and still find the time to eat healthy and exercise, then so can you.

Think Rocky Balboa… think Superman… think “I am woman and hear me roar”… LOL

You CAN do this. It takes work and focus and desire, but you CAN do this and you ARE worth the effort.

    Okay………

    Ready….

    Set…

    GO!

    Huggggggs,
    Shan
