I’m trying- it’s hard!
I am trying sooo hard to eat right and stay active. This whole week so far I’ve done pretty good-no candy, cookies or anything really tooo bad for you. I’ve been also doing weight lifting, jumping rope and such. I am just sooo scared that I won’t keep up with it. It’s hard when I go to work-I work at CVS/Pharmacy. All that candy at the checkout, and there aren’t that many healthy options. I try to bring stuff from home so that I won’t eat anything bad. I eat (try) at least every three hours.

Oh well I am just ranting on!!!
Hey Jen
You keep up the good work girlie. When your working, look at all that candy and sweets and tell yourself “Thats how I got to where I am now.” I have to say that to myself everytime I have to cook for my kids. They are home for the summer and eat things like bagels, waffles..etc. for breakfast and me a few eggs. I have to keep remembering my old eating patterns and that freaks me out enough! Hold on and you’ll make it!
Let me tell you something, people always doubt themselves, but it’s up to the rest of us to pick them back up when they do fall. So I am doing what I need to do and that is support you. You have the power to stay away from those things. I have finally gotten to the point when I walk by the snack machines on our college campus, I by pass them because I know that there is always a healthier choice for me. Wether it’s going down the street to food lion, or where ever to get a juicy pear, or an apple, I know that I can probably have 4 of those or more to equal that few minutes of satisfaction that the “candy” will give me, or the chips, or whatever I am craving at the time… You can do this, just get your mind strong, like your heart is about you eating healthier.
good luck.

It sounds like you are on the right track. Now how to stay there? It’s your comment about being scared that pricked my attention. You are worrying about something that has not even come to pass yet. This can be so detrimental to your dreams and goals. Fear can keep you from trusting yourself and your abilities. If you approach this weight loss thing with hesitation, it can break your resolve. If you approach it with confidence, then every single step and inch you make, just one pound at a time, can add up to something truly wonderful, and end up making you even more confident, not only with your weight loss goal, but for other dreams you may have in your life that you have been unwilling to try because of fear of failure. The unknown monster under the bed is always bigger than the dust bunny reality. So heads up! You CAN do this thing. Gain all the knowledge you can, read about nutrition and metabolism and exercise and blood sugar levels and everything else you can get your hands on. Find out what works for you. Make yourself a plan and write it down. Keep a food and exercise journal. The blue ribbon is yours for the taking. All you have to do is put forth the effort and want it badly enough. I think you do or you wouldn’t be here.
Best of luck to you and if you need help, just holler. LOADS of support in this place.
